Among the larger manufacturers at Enforce Tac 2026, it was the smaller, more specialized builders that drew attention for different reasons. The Waffen Burk BR10 is one of those rifles that stands out not through marketing, but through how it is made and configured. This is like a hand-made HK417, and we take a look inside!
Developed by the Waffen Burk family operation, the BR10 is built largely in-house, with a clear emphasis on control over materials and assembly. Chambered in .308 Win and based on the AR-10 pattern, it uses a short-stroke gas piston system with an adjustable regulator, making it suitable for suppressed use.
Their BR10 with a 10.5” barrel gets 675 m/s out of an RWS Elite 168 grs. The typical 2+3 pattern, which I get quite often.
For the first time, I was able to open up one of the rifles and look at the bolt carrier group and other details.
Barrels are sourced from Lothar Walther blanks and finished to a heavier contour, aimed at maintaining consistency during extended strings of fire. The rifle is offered in multiple barrel lengths and calibers, with fully ambidextrous controls and compatibility with standard magazines.
My friend did it! But would you pick a small manufacturer like this over a big brand?
