More shooting, less reloading
As modern handguns, both the Smith & Wesson and the Walther already come from the factory with standard-capacity magazines, unless you live in a place that bans such things. The Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 has 15-round mags available as well as 18-round mags. The Walther PDP has the same options. But what if you want to shoot more, reload less?
The five-round magazine extensions from XS Sights will boost your 15-round mag to 20 rounds, and your 18-round mag goes all the way to 23-round capacity. The extensions for the Walther and the Smith & Wesson have been designed specifically for each of these platforms, but are also designed to be simple to install. XS Sights says they have factory-level reliability, but don’t need upgraded springs.
The body of the extension is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum with a black nitride coating for corrosion resistance. It is designed to integrate into the factory magazine’s body seamlessly for a clean look and smooth handling. The added length is especially supposed to help the shooter with their grip on the mag.
Jeff King, chief marketeer at XS Sights, said, “Those training can now spend less time reloading and more time shooting. Additionally, the extra capacity gives those using it for law enforcement and self-defense, increased peace of mind. Competitive shooters can also optimize stage planning and performance with the higher capacity.”
Of course, you’ve still got to spend the same amount of time physically pushing rounds into magazines, but having another five rounds will benefit users in the situations King mentioned.
Both of the mag extensions are priced at $40, and have a limited lifetime warranty. For more deets, head to XSSights.com.
