SAN DIEGO, Calif. August 29 2026 — Toor Knives today announced the release of the Barrow, a new ultralight fixed blade designed to deliver full-size control and serious cutting capability without the weight and bulk traditionally associated with larger field knives.
Designed by Toor Knives founder Connor Toor, the Barrow was developed around a simple observation gathered through years of hunting and field use: much of the intricate work performed with a fixed blade takes place toward the tip and belly.
Rather than adding unnecessary blade length, the Barrow focuses its geometry around the portion of the blade most commonly used while retaining a full-size ergonomic handle for increased control and comfort.
“The idea behind the Barrow was really simple. I wanted to build the knife around the part of the blade I actually use,” said Connor Toor, CEO and founder of Toor Knives. “When you’re processing an animal or doing detailed work in the field, you’re spending most of your time at the tip and belly. We kept the handle full size, took out as much unnecessary weight as possible, and focused everything else on cutting performance. The result is a knife that carries incredibly light but doesn’t feel like a small knife when it’s in your hand.”
Weighing just 2.29 ounces, the Barrow features an aggressively skeletonized full-tang frame designed to reduce weight while retaining the feel and control of a traditional fixed blade.
The ultra-thin blade is constructed from CPM MagnaCut and incorporates a full-face bevel designed for efficient cutting performance and extended sharpening life. A KG Gunkote finish adds additional surface protection for demanding outdoor and field conditions.
The Barrow is offered with both G10 and Walnut handle options, allowing users to choose between a modern, highly durable configuration and a more traditional hunting-inspired aesthetic. Stainless steel hardware is used on the G10 models while Brass is used on the Walnut model.
Originally conceived as an ultralight hunting knife for backcountry use, development and testing demonstrated that the Barrow’s lightweight construction and compact cutting geometry translated naturally into tactical, outdoor, and general field applications.
The philosophy behind the knife is reflected in its simplicity: provide the blade the user actually works with, maintain the handle needed for control, and eliminate everything else.
