Two hundred and fifty years is worth more than a flag decal, and Microtech Knives agrees. The North Carolina OTF maker dropped a limited-edition Hera II to commemorate the Semiquincentennial, dressed in patriotic Cerakote and paired with a double-edge Apocalyptic finish blade that carries the kind of character you’d expect from a milestone piece.
The Hera II is already one of Microtech’s most refined platforms, and this 250th American Celebration model doesn’t sacrifice function for the occasion. The chassis runs internal screws for a clean exterior, pairs a redesigned 6AL4V titanium pocket clip with a glass breaker, and uses a dual-fuel drivetrain known for its ultra-smooth deployment.
Blade steel is Bohler M390MK, a high-end powder metallurgy stainless that holds an edge well and resists corrosion. At 9.45 inches overall with a 4.01-inch blade and a fighting weight of 4.9 oz, it’s a full-size carry that earns its place on the belt. The reversible clip gives you some flexibility in how you run it.
Priced at $607 and releasing in limited quantities, this one is aimed squarely at the collector shelf, though it’s fully functional enough for daily use. Independence Day comes once, and 250 comes exactly once. Most likely, this collection was sold out faster than you read this Photo Of The Day.
