Auto-Ordnance has added an 18-inch barrel variant to its TAO50 lineup, built on the same roller-bearing bolt technology as the standard models but configured for a compact profile. The TAO50-18 combines the platform’s single-shot bolt-action mechanism, precision-machined receiver, and adjustable components into a shortened configuration that weighs 23 pounds and measures 43.5 inches overall (110 cm).
The receiver is machined from high-tensile steel. The new model features a barrel with a 1:15 twist rate (like other models) with a high-efficiency muzzle brake. The rifle also features a full-length integrated top Picatinny rail for optics mounting. The Adaptive Tactical EX Performance adjustable stock handles length of pull and cheek weld customization. The stock has a “honeycomb” pad design that actively reduces recoil on your shoulder, which is probably a nice thing once you let the fury of the .50 BMG loose. The rifle comes with one Barrett M107A1 10-round magazine and ships in a GPS Tactical Double Rifle Case.
