With the nation’s 250th birthday arriving this July, Auto-Ordnance has released a commemorative 1911 to mark the occasion. The USA 250th Anniversary 1911 (model 1911TCAC19) is chambered in .45 ACP and built on the company’s Stainless 1911 platform, dressed up with patriotic engraving and a custom finish designed to stand apart from the standard catalog lineup.
Semiquincentennial Fever @ TFB:
The finish is a matte gray coating with copper-colored infill used to highlight slide inscriptions, with black controls providing contrast throughout. The left side of the slide carries “250th ANNIVERSARY” along with the year 2026, while the right side reads “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” with the founding year 1776.
The grip panels are custom-engraved wood, with the Liberty Bell depicted on the left grip and a bald eagle on the right, both set against a field of stars. Auto-Ordnance notes that because the custom work is hand-created, no two pistols are exactly alike and color may vary slightly between individual pieces.
On the functional side, the pistol runs a 5-inch barrel, measures 8.63 inches overall, and weighs 2.3 pounds. Sights are TruGlo Combat Day Sights for rapid target acquisition. Only one seven-round magazine is included, perhaps indicating the pistol is more for collecting than long range days?
Collectors drawn to Americana-themed firearms will find this a fairly complete package for the occasion, combining a recognizable platform with meaningful decorative detail marking a significant national milestone.
