The 686 Silver Pigeon I lineup is now complete. Beretta has announced the final wave of its refreshed 680-series offering, bringing the updated sub-gauge field models and the first-ever sub-gauge Sporting configurations in Silver Pigeon I history to market.
The refresh itself isn’t new, exactly. The Silver Pigeon I got a facelift in 2025 when Beretta rolled out a redesigned top lever with repositioned release pin geometry for a lighter opening effort, along with more detailed floral laser engraving that now wraps around the receiver tail and hinge pins. What this announcement does is extend those changes across the 28-gauge and .410 bore field guns, and introduces Sporting variants in both sub-gauges, which fills a gap that’s been there for a while.
Those Sporting models carry the B-FAST adjustable stock system, offering drop, cast, height, and rotation adjustability in a package that will appeal to competitive shooters who’ve wanted a lighter-recoiling option for breaking targets. The 28-gauge in particular has earned a cult following among sporting clays shooters who prefer the softer impulse and the smaller payload as a training and fun-shooting tool, and getting the full Silver Pigeon I Sporting treatment in that bore size is a legitimate addition to the lineup.
All of the new models ride on Beretta’s low-profile 680-series action and come standard with Steelium cold hammer-forged barrels featuring Optimabore HP choke geometry, a select European walnut stock and forend, and the Extralight recoil pad. A 686 Silver Pigeon I Combo, which pairs barrel sets for sub-gauge shooters who want versatility in one package, rounds out the announcement at $4,599.
The sub-gauge field models are priced at $2,899, matching the 12- and 20-gauge field guns. The B-FAST Sporting variants step up to $3,399. All five new configurations are shipping to authorized Beretta dealers nationwide now.

The 686 Silver Pigeon I refresh kept the changes incremental rather than radical. Is that the right call for a gun this established, or would you have liked to see a more significant overhaul?
