True clone nerds need no introduction to the MR07 light mount. It was an answer to the problem of mounting a Surefire X200 or X300 on the USGI 1911 pistols in military inventories. Later models of military 1911 (like the M45A1 CQBP) incorporated rails, but the MR07 soldiered on for the older pistols. These mounts have become both expensive and hard to find in recent years.
Enter the Mister Seven (a play on the MR07 designation of the original). This 7075 T6 aluminum mount is a faithful reproduction of the original. It also includes the extended steel slide stop, which pins the mount to the frame. A set screw on the trigger guard holds everything in place. The MisterSeven is in stock and available for purchase now for $199.
From the manufacturer:
“The MisterSeven is an adapter that allows you to mount a SureFire X200/X300/X400 to a non-railed standard frame 1911. This product is meant to be a faithful substitute to the discontinued SureFire MR07.
Included:
MisterSeven light mount body assembly
Slide stop
Allen key for installation
Firearm Compatibility:
Made for standard .45 1911 frames. Compatible with Government/Commander length frames. Other calibers are typically compatible as well, however, we cannot guarantee fitment. Although most cases are drop in fitment, due to the custom fit nature of 1911s, some frames may not be compatible and some fitting may be required. Due to variance in some trigger guards, a longer set screw may be required for a snug fit. If you require a longer set screw please contact us. Always use a competent gunsmith for installation.
Light Compatibility:
Being as the MisterSeven is a substitute to a legacy product, it was originally designed to work with legacy X200/X300/X400s. Modern battery doors may not have the same fitment and look as legacy lights. This can be mitigated by using a legacy battery door, or simply the “U” key for the X-Series lights. This product was designed around SureFire X Series lights, other brands or models of lights have not been tested so we cannot ensure compatibility.”
