Tippmann Ordnance, the Fort Wayne, Indiana outfit best known for hand-cranked Gatling guns, has added something a little different to the lineup for 2026: the Pirate Pistol, now chambered in .380 Auto. I’m thinking this would be perfect for the “Slam Fire Division”, carrying a Pirate outfit, of course.
The name is not just marketing fluff. Tippmann’s Pirate Pistol is a pump-action, slam-fire pistol built entirely from solid steel and fitted with custom walnut stocks, giving it a distinctly old-world feel that no polymer-framed striker-fired pistol is going to replicate. The clamshell-style receiver adds to the aesthetics, and the whole package ships inside a custom treasure chest. Yes, an actual treasure chest, and by the looks of it, there are a few gold coins in these as well.
On the practical side, the .380 Pirate Pistol features a 10-inch barrel with a 1:10 twist rate and a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle, so suppressors are very much on the menu. Capacity is seven rounds total: six in the tube plus one in the chamber. The pump-action with slam fire operation means you can move rounds downrange faster than you might expect from something this theatrical. That hammer is probably the biggest I’ve ever seen on any firearm, ever.
Solid steel construction, custom wood furniture, and Tippmann’s boutique manufacturing approach all factor into the $799 MSRP. There is also approximately a 90-day lead time from order to shipment, and all sales are final, so this one requires both commitment and waiting. As with all Tippmann Ordnance firearms, it ships to an FFL of your choosing.
For anyone who has ever wanted a conversation-starting .380 that arrives in a treasure chest, Tippmann Ordnance may have just answered the call.
