Leupold & Stevens, Inc. has expanded its Mark 4HD riflescope family with three new illuminated reticle options. The Oregon-based optics manufacturer now offers the Mark 4HD in Illuminated PR2-MOA, Illuminated PR2-MIL, and Illuminated PR3-MIL configurations, available in both 6-24×52 and 8-32×56 magnification ranges.
This marks the first time Leupold has offered its PR2 and PR3 reticles with illumination. The company originally developed these reticles for competitive shooters, hunters, and professional users who needed clean sight pictures without the clutter of traditional Christmas tree designs.
“We originally developed the PR2-MOA, PR2-MIL and PR3-MIL reticles with input from the country’s top competitors, professional shooters, and hunters,” said John Snodgrass, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “They all wanted the same thing: A reticle that provided a clean sight picture that was free of the clutter you see with other Christmas tree designs, allowing for fast accuracy, hold-offs, and shot corrections.”
According to Snodgrass, illuminated versions were among the most requested features after the original reticles launched. The new options aim to expand the Mark 4HD’s utility across hunting, competition, and tactical applications.
Both new configurations feature first focal plane (FFP) construction with 34mm maintubes. The 6-24×52 and 8-32×56 models share the Mark 4HD family’s 4:1 zoom ratio design.
The illumination system uses push-button operation. Leupold includes its Motion Sensor Technology, which puts the reticle to sleep after five minutes without movement. The illumination reactivates automatically when the scope moves again, extending battery life.
The PR2 and PR3 reticles provide holdover points and windage references while maintaining a minimal footprint. Shooters can make rapid corrections and holdoffs without visual interference. The illumination adds capability in low-light conditions while preserving the clean sight picture these reticles were designed around.
The PR2-MOA serves shooters who work in minute-of-angle measurements. The PR2-MIL and PR3-MIL cater to those who prefer milliradian systems. The PR3-MIL offers enhanced holdover capability compared to the PR2-MIL.
The Mark 4HD line includes Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System. The company says this delivers the light transmission, glare reduction, and resolution that professional guides and shooters require.
Leupold equips the scopes with ZeroLock dial systems. These prevent accidental turret movement and allow quick return to zero. Select models include a ZeroLock windage turret as well.
The Mark 4HD family spans five magnification ranges with the 4:1 zoom ratio. This provides options for competition, backcountry hunting, and tactical use from a single product platform.
Leupold builds the Mark 4HD in its Beaverton, Oregon factory. The company designs, machines, and assembles the scopes domestically. Leupold & Stevens, Inc. is a fifth-generation, family-owned company that has operated for over a century. The scopes carry waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof ratings. Leupold backs the Mark 4HD with a lifetime performance guarantee.
The new illuminated reticle options are now available. Shooters can find more information at Leupold.com.
