If you’ve got an H&K VP9 and you’re thinking that you’d like to upgrade the irons, then XS Sights wants to talk—they’ve got a new set of fiber optic irons, as well as a new set of optic plates for this handgun.
Better iron sights @ TFB:
A better sighting system
The VP9 has been on the market for a good while now (see here for our review of the pistol all the way back in 2014, and here for our review of the much more recent VP9A1 X configuration). But just because a gun has been on the market for a while is no reason to not release new upgrades.
So XS Sights has new iron-sight upgrades that use CNC-machined steel for their main body, not easily breakable plastic, with a fiber-optic insert in the front sight for easy pickup when you need to line up your pistol in a hurry (your choice of interchangeable green or orange fiber-optic; both are included). The rear sight is serrated to cut down on glare, helping you lock your visual focus on that front sight.
In 2026, many shooters are adding optics or suppressors to their handguns, blocking the standard iron sight picture. XS Sights offers their upgrades in standard height or in a raised option that will clear the top of a suppressor and the base of many optics, giving you a backup option in a pinch.
There’s also a new set of XS Optic Plates for the Heckler & Koch’s pistol, made to fit optics with the ACRO and RMR footprint. XS says “these CNC-machined steel plates deliver 30% more thread engagement, providing a rugged, secure, and seamless mounting solution.” They come with a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance, and they’re compatible with most common red dot sights that are currently available.
Pricing for the new fiber optic sights is $55; the optics mounting plates are $82.99. Bundle them both together for $146.26. They come with a limited lifetime warranty—more details at XSSights.com.
