Magpul has announced three new M-LOK accessories aimed at supporting hand control and consistent indexing: the M-LOK SVG Short Vertical Grip, the M-LOK Thumb Shelf, and the M-LOK Index Stop. All three are around the corner, for sale for almost nothing, and available for May 2026 delivery.

All three are also ambidextrous and will be available in Black, FDE, ODG, and Magpul’s new Modified Coyote Brown (MCB) color, and are specifically made to fit octagonal aluminum rails.
The SVG (MAG1567) is a short vertical grip described by Magpul as taking the approach that “bigger isn’t always better.” Where the existing MVG is already a compact offering, the SVG takes the concept further with a reduced profile intended for shooters who prefer minimal bulk forward of the trigger guard without giving up a positive grip reference.
It mounts directly to M-LOK slots on aluminum or polymer hand guards with included hardware and no Picatinny rail required.
The M-LOK Thumb Shelf (MAG1566) addresses a different part of the support hand equation. Rather than a grip the fingers wrap around, the Thumb Shelf provides a shelf for the thumb, giving the shooter a consistent thumb-over-bore reference point mounted wherever it is most useful on the hand guard.
Magpul describes it as delivering “thumb support when and where it’s most needed,” suggesting it is designed to complement a variety of grip styles rather than dictate one.
The M-LOK Index Stop (MAG1568) is the most minimalist of the three, described as providing “consistent indexing for improved control.” At $19.95, it functions as a fixed reference point on the hand guard, allowing the support hand to return to the same position shot after shot without a full grip accessory attached. Of all these three options, this is probably going to be my favorite as it can do magic on long range rifles as well.
It is intended to be a simple solution for shooters who prioritize repeatable hand placement without adding bulk.
Together, the three accessories give M-LOK users a wider range of options for configuring support hand ergonomics to suit individual shooting styles, whether that is a short vertical grip, a thumb reference, or a bare index point.
